An Underwater Bridge That Defies The Laws Of Physics

There are many crazy looking things in this world, but this amazing bridge built by the Dutch is something else. We at the Beauty of Travel liked it some much that we wanted to share this story with all of guys out there.

This is the Veluwemeer Aqueduct, a Dutch masterpiece, build in 2002 by some of the best engineers. Its purpose – connecting the Netherlands mainland with the artificial island of Flevoland.

Before building this architectural wonder many different ideas were discussed like an ordinary bridge and an underwater tunnel. But as it turned out all of them were too expensive and also time-consuming. The main idea or problem was to let both water and land transport continue without any traffic jams.
