The Russians have come up with a brilliant idea to link London and New York with a massive 12.910 mile highway. This road will also unite most of our world’s countries by land.
The idea was firstly brought up by Vladimir Yakunin, the head of Russian Railways. The $3 trillion plan includes building mainly new roads, but also using some which are already there.
He believes that this is a project worth pursuing because in time this enormous investment will pay off. When passing through Russia the road would be laid alongside the Trans-Siberian Railways, which is the longest in the world. Also, there will be a span of 55 miles linking Russia and Alaska and about 550 miles of wilderness from Nome (the closest Alaskan settlement to Russia) and Fairbank, the nearest major city.
There are also talks about constructing a high speed rail system alongside the road.
