People usually say wherever they feel safe and secure, they feel at home. However, feeling safe doesn’t have to mean boring.
EIU (The Economist Intelligence Unit) made a survey and ranked the safest cities in the world as the safest according to their infrastructure, personal safety, digital security technology and according to the tips of the locals who know their cities inside down!
Osaka is considered to be one of the most peaceful and untroubled cities in the world. Once you are here, feel free to leave your personal stuff on the table unguarded while you are in the lady’s room or while you are ordering food. The people here are generally hard working and business- focused. They usually travel to work every day using public transport, even late at night. Ladies travel alone on subways freely in the late hours, too.
Let’s admit- this is almost impossible in most of the cities in the world.
Locals in Osaka are known as extremely warm, hospitable and friendly people. There is no doubt that you are going to be treated here as an old friend. According to Yamamoto ,who moved here 25 years ago, if you really want to be in touch with the locals every day, then you’d better rent a traditional long house called Nagaya , downtown in Ikuno Ward or Abeno Ward. These are the only areas in Osaka where these long houses are still common and are relatively affordable for everyone. Moreover, if you like to live near nature then you’d better move to Minoh and Kita- Sanri which are easily accessible by train from the downtown of Osaka.
