Every Little Child’s Dream
Neuschwanstein Castle is every little girl’s dream. It looks like the princess’s castle of the famous fairy tales- Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty. Rumors say that these two tales were inspired by this castle. This magical castle is placed on a rugged hill in the southwest of Bavaria. The romantic setting just adds to its magical appearance. The castle has turrets, incredible interior and a glowing limestone façade.
But let’s get back to the reality. The castle was actually a personal retreat of King Ludwig II, the ruler of Bavaria. Right after his death in 1886, the castle was opened to the public. Every year more than 1.3 million tourists visit the castle.
