An Amazing Nature’s Optical Illusion
Lake Sørvágsvatn known as Lake Leitisvatn is the biggest lake on Faroe Islands. This quaint lake distinguishes itself by the optical illusion it creates. It looks as if it lays hundreds of meters above the restless waves of the ocean beneath but in real it is only 30 meters above the sea level.
This 6- meters-long lake is situated on the island of Vagar. Faroe Islands offer plenty of natural attractions- from causeways, tunnels, bridges to glittering lakes, dramatic cliffs and vast meadows. The islands also amaze with their rare species of birds.
