1. “The Door to Hell” – Derweze, Turkmenistan
The Darvaza Creator (know as “The Door to Hell”) was first discovered by Soviet engineers back in 1971. When looking for natural gas the engineers feared of poisonous fumes being released in the environment so they made a decision to burn of the gas. Even though the fire should have burn out after several weeks, it still burns today, decades later.
2. “The Troll’s Tongue” – Hordaland, Norway
The troll`s Tangue is definitely not for the faint-hearted . Can you imagine standing on the edge of a 10.000 years old rock formation, 2.3000 feet above Lake Ringedalsvatnet in Norway?
