Sahara Sees Snow For The First Time In Over 37 Years

I bet this is the last place on Earth where you`d expect to see some snow. After all, the Sahara is one of the hottest places with an average temperature of 30C. A couple of days ago the small town of Ain Sefra in Algeria woke up to find its red dunes turned white.

Karim Bouchetata, an amateur photographer managed to catch this amazing phenomenon with the help of his camera so the rest of the world could see it. This is such a rare occurrence and we are glad he acted fast because the snow stayed only for about a day before it melted away.

This is the second time in history that people remembers snow falling in Sahara since February 1979.
