On a lonely plateau in Armenia stands an abandoned medieval city known as the “City of 40 Gates” and the “City of 1001 Churches”. Founded 1.600 years ago, this city had some of the most advanced structures in the world like fortifications, palaces and religious buildings. It`s a shame seeing Ani today in ruins, torn apart for centuries by vandals, Turks, Nature and looters.
